1-on-1 business coaching for tutors
Turn your tutoring into a business — not a busier job.
I'm Jason. I went from underpaid agency tutor to independent teacher to a tutoring company with a team behind it. Now I coach tutors through the same journey: your own students, real prices, and — when you're ready — a business that teaches without you.

Stage 1
Agency tutor
Full schedule. The agency keeps most of it.
Stage 2
Independent tutor
Your students, your prices.
Stage 3
Business owner
A team of tutors. It runs — even when you don't.
The climb we make together.
The problem
The solo tutor hits a ceiling. Every time.
Whether you teach for an agency or already fly solo, the math is the same: your income equals your hours. And your hours run out.
The agency cut
Students pay full price. You see a fraction of it. I lived this for a year — the agency took most of what my students paid for my teaching.
The full calendar
Fully booked feels like success. It's actually your cap. When every hour is sold, the only way to earn more is to charge more — or stop being the only teacher.
The you-shaped bottleneck
A holiday, a sick week, a slow month of burnout — when you stop, the income stops. A business should survive its owner taking a break.
The path
The road I took. The one we'll walk together.
This isn't theory from a marketing course. It's the exact sequence I lived — and now coach, one tutor at a time.
Go independent
Land students that are yours — no agency, no middleman, no cut. Learn to promote yourself, run discovery calls, and close without feeling salesy. This is the step that changed my income the most.
Charge what it's worth
Find the niche where you're most valuable, package your teaching into outcomes instead of hours, and price with confidence — for students you actually enjoy teaching.
Build the business
Hire your first tutors, train them to teach at your standard, standardize your procedures, and put systems in place — so you work on the business, not just in it.
Coaching, not a course
What we work on together
Niche & positioning
Who you serve best, and how to become the obvious choice for them — instead of one tutor among thousands.
Pricing & packages
How to charge students prices that reflect results, structure packages, and raise rates without losing people you like.
Marketing that fits you
A lead flow you'll actually keep doing — content, referrals, or ads — matched to your personality and your niche.
Sales & discovery calls
Turning "interested" into "enrolled" — honest closing, objection handling, and trial lessons that convert.
Hiring & training tutors
Interviewing, delegating your sessions, and training tutors to your standard — the exact playbook I used to build my team.
Systems & delegation
Standardized procedures, a teaching management setup, and workflows that keep quality high when you're not in the room.
"Somewhere along the way I realized: I don't just run a tutoring business. I can manufacture what I learned — in other tutors."

Common questions
Asked on almost every call
How do I start a tutoring business from scratch?
You don't need a license, an office, or a website to start — you need one student who pays you directly. The order that worked for me: pick a niche, get visible where that niche already is, run honest discovery calls, deliver results, then systemize. We cover the whole sequence in coaching, and I write about it in Reads.
How much should I charge my students?
More than you think, and almost never by the hour. Pricing depends on your niche, the outcome you deliver, and who's paying (adults investing in careers pay differently than parents). In our first sessions we usually find room to raise prices without losing students.
How do I hire and train other tutors?
Later than you'd like, earlier than you dare. The real work isn't finding tutors — it's standardizing what you do so someone else can deliver it at your standard. I'll hand you the interviewing, training, and delegation playbook I built for my own team.
I still work at an agency. Is it too early for coaching?
It's the best time. You can build your independent side — niche, first students, pricing — while the agency still pays the bills. That's a safer version of the leap I took, and it's exactly what the Kickstart is for.
Do you only coach English tutors?
No — any subject. My own path was English tutoring, but the business side (getting students, pricing, hiring, systems) works the same for math, music, coding, or test prep. If you tutor and you want to grow, we can work together.
